How can I stop Windows 98se from changing my IE options settings? I have IE 5.0. Everytime I turn on my computer windows has changed my IE connetion option from "always dial my default connection" to "never dial my default connection". I always click on apply and o.k. after I change settings.

You might want to check your computer for a phone dialer program from a 900 site. If you visited a site that has them, you may have allowed one to set up residence in your registry.

Hi Bob J.,
thanks for your response. I believe you are right. How do I find this phone dialer program and reset my computer to accept my ISP as my default connection?

Go to www.trendmicro,com and run their housecall program. It may remove the dialer program. If not, check, by using msconfig, the name of the program and do a find files for it and delete the files and then open regedit and do a find for the file name and delete the registry entries in that name.

Befor doing what I posted last. Check add/remove programs to see if the dialer program is there and uninstall it from there.

Hello Bob J.,
thank you very much for all your help. Have turned my computer insideout, checked my registry, msconfigeration usw., but couldn't find any dialer program or files other than the ones I need for my connection. I might have to reinstall my ISP connection.
