I have many short avi's (game intro's, music videos, etc), and all work perfectly fine.
Except 2.
When I play them on Windows Media Player, they run way too fast. Both video & Audio are in synch, it just sounds like Alvin & the Chipmunks.
According to the Statistics option, the Frame Rate of the clip is 25 or so, but the ACTUAL Frame Rate played is 33.3. Why is it playing faster than it should?
I tried both Windows Media Player 7.1 & good ol' 6.4... but both play it super speed.
I tried using Quicktime, and it played it the correct speed! Sadly, it doesn't have the Video codec, so all I get is a White screen. (Good audio, though. Correct speed too!)
I tried re-installing Mdia Player. No change.
I tried converting the avi, but Tmpeg & Adobe Premiere can't recognise the audio.
WMP Troubleshooter suggests a conflicting program or bad drivers. My Audio Driver is fine, and no other program is active. (Except Explorer & systray)
Any ideas?

the only thing i can think of is to get a video editoring program like virtualdub (http://www.concentric.net/~psilon/). i think the addy is still good. it'll take a little while to get the hang of the program, but it is pretty good. with VirtualDub, you can change the frame rate to a lower rate
