I'm trying to install a Creative CDRW 4224, and since I already have 2 HDs, I want to daisychain it to my Acer CDROM 36X.
I've tried everything I can think of, switching the master/slave jumper settings, changing the data cable, checking the pins, reinstalling drivers, loading the firmware upgrade, loading the CDRW as a stand-alone,
etc, and I get the same result--"Device not ready."My BIOS and Win98 recognizes the drive and recognizes it as a CDRW, but the drive will not read any CDs--audio, CDROM, blank CDR or CDRW.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Monkey McGee

Howdy, Have you tried consulting the user manual or calling Creative Labs and seeking there advice?
Laters,
Kevin The Tech Dude.

I sent Creative an email, and they said it would take about a week to get back to me, so I thought I'd take my shot in here. I've been through the user's manual and it didn't help.

The Creative manual for this device is not even complete. It refers to other pages not to be found in the manual. The software shipped with it is junk. They need to make it right with everyone who bought one.

i have Creative Cdrw 4224X and the problem is taht i havae misplaced my drivers CD ths cdrom - and have tried searching major websites and all i get is updated versions not the complete set - can anyone help me to find the drivers.
