Cd-rw not detected in windows

I'm trying to install a cd-rw on my machine bios detects it but when in windows it doesn't see the cd at all no cd drive shows up.ANy ideas

Search the registry for "noide". If found delete that key. Also, search for "nodrivetype". Once found make sure the values are 95 00 00 00. To search registry, click start, run, type in regedit, click edit, and then find. Let us know if this don't help.
