My second topic, this one to be more specific. My CD-RW drive no longer reads or writes CDs. It is the Samsung SW-224B model. I have run Norton WinDoctor and this did not fix the problem. It is the slave on the secondary IDE, and I can open and close the drive from My Computer so I believe that means it isn't dead. It worked perfectly before, but I installed InCD and had to manually delete it to get my computer working again. It worked once after this but now it no longer functions. I cannot figure out how to fix this, and this is a real problem to me. Also, would reinstalling Windows help?

Boot from a win98 CD (with cdrom support) and see if you can access the drive. That should prove if the drive is defective or if it's a windows problem.

For some odd reason my computer won't let me create a startup disk, it asks to put in the CD-ROM, I do, it can't find the file, and I can't find one manually. Can someone point me towards a disk image of one?

Yes, I know. I tried, it won't let me. I'm looking for a disk image of one now. Know where I can find one?

You can get a bootdisk image at www.bootdisk.com. Download it to your desktop and double-click. It will prompt you to insert a floppy and will create a boot image for you there.

Yes, but aren't those just regular bootdisks? I'm looking for a setup disk, those wouldn't have the files that my computer wouldn't put onto the disk for some reason.
