I just bought a LG Electronics CD-RW&DVD-ROM COMBO DRIVE GCC-4320B. Everything worked fine the first few days i had it, but then I tryed to start windows and the screen goes blank when the log-in menu should appear. I havent got much more info but if i disable the IDE controllers in safe-mode everything works fine, but then i have no CD-ROM :( plz help. any info would help me.

When you are in safe mode remove the entry for your new combo drive through device manager. When you reboot, windows should recognise new hardware and reinstall it properly. If that does not do the trick, go back into safe mode and remove the entries for your IDE controller and let windows reinstall that.
