CD-ROM will not allow installation of any software
The main problem is when I try to put in a CD for Installation (Hallmark Cards) the CD-Rom will bring up the menu to install, but when I click on the button, my system completely freezes up and I have to reboot. I also am getting an error message when I reboot the says a device file is needed to run windows. It referes to the Windows registry or system.ini file and suggests it was deleted and to reinstall. Problem with that is it doesn't list which device is missing. But is does have "C:\program" on the screen. I don't have a directory by that name on any drive. I've run several diagnostics with Nuts & Bolts and can't find any problems that point to any drivers. Is is possible a driver has been overwritten from other software I've loaded and windows 95 just doesn't understand that driver?

Post the exact error message. If it gives the files name that is missing, such as xxxx.dll or xxxx.drv etc, write down the file's names and look for it on your win95 disc. If you find it, just copy it to the place it said it's missing from. Most dll and vbx and vxd's go in the windows system folder. If you can't find them, go to http://www.windrivers.com/company.htm who might have them. I imagine that Nuts & Bolts in trying to repair something, made a bigger mess which is usual for that program. Most of those helper programs do that.
