you'll need to get the bootdisk from the www.bootdisk.com. or get to a computer that works, and make one from your win98 disk. however, you can get into the bios,in advanced chipsets, change the boot sequence to cd-rom, c,a boot with the win98se disk. choose to open with cd-rom drivers. when its thru loading, change to d: [cd-rom] type in d:\cd win98 d:\win98 format c:/s after formatting d:\setup that will start windows setup it could be that the cd-rom ddrive letter will be e: if so, use in place of d:

Not all 98SE cd's are bootable. As suggested above go to www.bootdisk.com (or my webspace for WIN98SE.EXE) and download the bootdisk file. These files CREATE a bootdisk. Don't download them to a floppy. Click on the downloaded file with a known good floppy in your drive and the file(s) will create the bootdisk on your floppy. These files support atapi and SCSI cdroms.
