cdr101 error

CDR101: Not ready reading drive D (my cd drive). Abort, Retry, Fail? What should i do? i check the cord, everything is fine. Cd drivers is upload probably in dos, what should i do now? I don't know what's going on. I need to the pc to recognize the cd drive so i can run Windows setup installation.

Do you see the cd rom drive like d:\?
Did you try all the cds? (to make sure your cd is okay?)
If Cd driver is okay in Dos, you should be able to run setup from there..
One more thing, maybe you should clean the cdrom drive

Hi, Did u happen to get a floppy with your cd rom, i m sure you must have or u can always download it from your manufacturers website. boot into DOS and run the stup file, this will extract the same. should work fine. else as homeflash pointed out, the cd might be bad or then the lens might have some dust accumulated on it. bye

Yes, i have been using Win98 bootup disk with cd support and Win95 bootup with CD support. Yes cd driver is ok. Yes i can get to letter D (my cd drive). But when i type set up, nothing happened, it just say: CDR101: Not ready reading drive D.
