Comment:

I have been burning CD-Rs for a while now, but I still am not sure of one thing.

I have a cd writer that burns at 4x max.

If I buy cd-r disks that are say 48x or higher, is their a greater risk of making it a "coaster" because the cd-r speed is that much greater than my cd writing speed?

Hi Tony.

I have a 12X drive and use disks rated at 4X and 16X.

48X means that is the maximum speed the disk can be burned at. Your drive would burn at it's limit which is 4X.

Take care,

Linda

Oh ok, thanks Linda.

Didn't want to buy
cd-rs past a certain number if it was going to not work.

Thanks again.

I also think that the slower your Cd-r burns them, the better copy you will have.

I just have one more question.

What read speed should I put my cd writer on? The read speed goes up to 24x.

I changed the write speed to 2x for better quality. The write speeds are 1x, 2x, and 4x.
