I have a mitsushita CDR that came out of a Gateway system. gateway p/n CDRSCS006AAWW

I'm trying to get it installed under Linux and experience the same steady "busy" light. It is identified in the SCSI bios and Linux sees it when probed, however when a mount attempt is made it returns Mount failed: No medium found. still with a steady busy indication. Gateway doesnt have any info on this model of CDR either. anyone know the matsushita website? any and all insight is greatly appreciated.

yeh I have the same problwm with my Matshushita 7502. It would burn about 4 discs then wreck another 3 !. My advice. It's a piece of crap. My fireport scsi card doesn't even find the burner. Instead it prefers to work better on a cheap old $40 scsi card. My Yamaha CDR2600 absolutely thrashes it - it has never stuffed a disc yet !. The Matsushita on the other hand has done all sorts of things such as started burning a disc half way through the face. These people tell me though that the machine is in proper working order. Let's face it guys we got ripped off !.
Hope you can sort out your problems !
