Hi, I've been ask to save a wave file into a CD rom
not on an audio CD. What is the difference? was he
taliking about saving to a DVD cd or what? Please help...thanks my friend

If you burn an audio CD, the .WAV file will be converted to a .CDA file.
If you burn a data CD, the .WAV file will remain a .WAV file.

Both can be CD roms (non-rewriteable). I suspect he meant burn a data CD as opposed to an audio CD, so that you simply save a stored file which you can double click to play on a computer.
If you produce .cda audio files (see #1) then they will play on either a domestic stereo or a computer. These are the same as pre-recorded music CD's, the .cda files effectively being shortcuts to the music tracks.
As an aside, what really matters most is how you tell the software to burn a CD rather than the media itself. For example, many data CD's will burn OK as an audio CD and even play on your stereo.
some other bloke...
