Comment:

Just installed a 52x cdrom on my home computer. Previous CD rom was a 42x. When I use my CDROM, I am routed through Windows Media before I can play. Any way to go right to my music without the above route?
Thanx-Chuck

You need to use a media player. You can use anyone that you like. I personally use Winamp 5.02. I hate WMP. Most player will automatically take over the job from WMP when they install.

If you want to access the files i.e. NOT play them - go to my computer, select the device, right click and select OPEN. or, tyoe in the drive letter e.g. f:\ in the run command in the start menu

to just see the files and/or copy them, right click on the CD rom icon and select "explore"

Good Luck and Happy Computing,
