CD ROM Problem

Hi all, i have this problem and i need some advice here. the problem is my cd rom appear to read cd's but when i try to open the cd from there its say "D:\ is not accessible the device is not ready" could somebody can tell me if this is a Driver issue or i need to change the cd rom
change the cd-rom. i changed one today. the optic reader has gone 'south'

I am not sure I understand. You say it can read the CD? Do you mean it shows the CD label in Explorer? But then it will not open the CD files?...~smile~

Have you ever cleaned the laser? Maxell makes a very nice cleaning CD.
