Look and see if you have a NOIDE entry in your Registry. Go to Start-RUN-Type,REGEDIT-Click, OK. Navigate to the following Key.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Currentcontrolset\Services\VXD\IOS

Highlight the IOS Key and look in the right pane for a NOIDE entry. If found, Highlight the NOIDE entry, go to EDIT, in the drop down menu select DELETE. Close the Registry Editor and Restart the computer. Providing that the error which caused the NOIDE to appear in the first place, has been corrected, this should return your CD-ROM.
