have a hi val burner 4x8 it will not see a blank cd... a cd I have already burned to but no filled up ... it will see it and I can add to it but a blank it will see for a second and then it will say not ready...I have all the lastest cd burning programs and
have updated them I have tried using it as the master cd on secondary ide and as the slave on the secondary ide ,, a new cable I have reformated and still it will not see blank cd... I have tried several different cds HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM IT IS A WEIRD PROBLEM I KNOW BUT IT IS HAPPENING ANY HELP WOULD BE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED THKS.

Well, I can think 3 problems. Some writer progs not 100% compatible with w98 or other OS.Try to get some named like maxel or tdk blank disks. Some dust sit on your laser lens so you sould try to clean it.
