Comment:

I've been trying to intall a database software package for a colleague, which comprises of 2 CD'S.

After doing the programme intallation off CD 1 I got an illegal operation message as follows.

_DELIS caused a general protection fault
in module _ISDEL.exe at 0001:000009ba.

Any thoughts on this?

Also when trying to get the programme to work if you have CD1 in it asks for CD2 & if you put CD2 in it asks for CD1 , almost as if it wants 2 CD'S in at the same time!

I'm tying to contact the software supplier & will have another play around with this later, but any ideas in the meantime would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Dennis.
It sounds like it is just a glitch in the instalation of the program. I would just remove it, and reinstall it, then see if you still get the same error message.
Have a nic day.

Tried installing on 2 different machines with same problem on both.

The "help installation" section on 2nd CD basically says insert CD/hit run & follow on screen instuctions.

Great!

Hmm - methinks this is going to be a challenge - still nearly the weekend!

Got rid of Delis problem by uninstalling/shutting down all progs except exp/syst,then clearing Windows Temp.

Still can't get the programme to work though.

If you enter ISDEL.exe in the search box above the postings you will find that Deke has investigated the matter.
It could be that the problem is related to this file on your pc...
Sorry it is not a solution......just more work for you.
