Cd drive not playing music cd`s fixed

I was searching for help here about my cd drive not playing music cd`s. There are a lot of searchers here for the same reason but No I did not find an answer here but I did stumble onto my answer by luck.
In control panel open multimedia, then click the devices tab. Then expand media control devices and select cd audio device and then under properties click settings then make sure to check the box beside enable digital cd audio for this device.
This worked for me. I refer to this page almost daily but have never written in so it feels good to share something that might help others. Love ya`ll!!!

First try hocking the speacker into the cd-rom.If you here sound,there's a jumper wire goes from the cd-rom to the sound card. Also check the control panel,system,device manager to see if there are any yellow ! mares or red X's.Also double click on the cd-rom.Then the driver under it.Check the properties.To see if the CD_ROM is working or disabled.Good luck
