Subject: CD Drive is not working
OS: Win 98
CPU/Ram: AMD -K6(tm) 3D
Comment:

My CD drive is not working. i can see my cd drive in My Computer.But when i put cd in CD drive light on CD is blinking for two or three time after that when i try to open or explore that CD drive , it is not accessible and drive is not ready. i got same message after few minutes while cd was in CD drive.
pls help me

A saying that I hope to make famous is "you can't fix hardware with software"

Sounds like your cdrom drive died. Couple of things to do. Open the case and reseat the ide cable at both the motherboard and the cdrom. Next get a boot diskette with cdrom drivers like a 98 startup disk or a ME boot disk and boot up on it. Can you access the cdrom drive? If not replace your cdrom drive.
