If your cd door continues opening for seemingly no apparent reason it could be the system is attemtping a back up and sometimes the pop up window does not appear so just go into Norton or whatever you have and cancel the backup - worked for me.

Funny ...I had a cd rom that kept opening for no reason....tossed it out and installed a new one......joy joy joy.

I have seen what would be technically a virus that does that. It is actually a joke that has been going around for years. You get this email supposedly from Coke. It says you have recieved a free gift, a cup holder. Just click the button in the middle of the screen. Out pops your cd rom tray. When I first saw this that was where it stopped but not long ago I saw it again and if you didn't stop it right away the tray would start cyceling every so many seconds. Likely Practice makes perfect but only if you practice perfectly!
