CD burner won't play audio cd-r's

I can successfully burn audio cd-r's with my 16x12x40x cd-rw drive, and can play the burned audio disc in my 24x cd-rom drive and standard cd player fine, but my cd burner goes through 2 seconds of each track on the burned disc then just stops. anyone have any ideas/solutions as to why this happens? The burner plays regular cd's fine but not burned audio discs. I'm running Win98 and use Nero 5.5 burning software. Thank you.

I'm guessing that your burner isn't attached to your sound card. It isn't broken, its just that it can't send the audio signal to the sound card.

My burner is connected to my sound card (SB AWE64). The burner will play only 2 seconds of music off each track then stop like it's finished playing. I thought it was the cd-r that was messed, but it plays fine in my standard cd player. Then I switched the audio conncetion to my cd-rom drive, and it plays fine as well.
