I bought a brand new CD Burner a little less then a month ago. It is a Buslink 52x32x52 Internal Drive. The packaged software is Nero Express. I installed the burner onto the Secondary Master IDE Port. When I burn files, it won't work right. The drive would come on, the red light would blink twice, (letting you know it was burning) the program would lock up when the process reached 2%, and the light would quit flashing. The CD would continue spinning inside. I couldn't eject, (probably because Nero locked it). I believe the CD Burner was burning "Lead-In" (when the drive burns the "Table-of-Contents".) before it quit. I tried increasing Buffer Size, and cache size, that wouldn't work. I tried using more better CD-Rs. That wouldn't work. I also tried burning at the lowest speed which was 4X. I don't know what to do to fix the situation. As you can see, I have Windows 95, 32MB RAM, & a 166 MHz Pentium Processor. I was planning on upgrading RAM, and putting in a faster processor. Would that work? Or, do ya'll have something better? I would appreciate any help.

I wouldn't be too hasty to buy a new computer. First get at least 64mb of memory and install win98(win95 will not even pick up some burners at all).I used to burn cd's on an old 486 at 6x with no problems.Don't be afraid to try different burning programs also.

I installed a Buslink RDW-4816 48x CD-rw with Nero into a 400Mhz Celeron, 256MB, Windows Me. The software hangs almost all the time, now the InCD will not uninstall, computer is a vegetable unless I disconnect power to the drive. Buslink and Nero support are ridiculous. Tried all their suggestions. No go.

Best recommendation - DO NOT BUY!
