Greetings,
Any recomendations for Cassette Deck to Cd via my PC?
I have all HPs and have nothing more than the windows media player.
Can I go direct from deck to computer and is there software specifically designed for this that you would recomend?
Thanks,
Jack

when you think that you know it all! you know nothing

try music match jukebox somewhat older version coz newer versions require windows media center i think.did not work on my pc.you can also try audiograbber for recording from your cassette deck.connect your output from the deck to the line-in on the PC and record the songs.
best of luck.

go to http://audacity.sourceforge.net/windows
save files in wav also go to www.sticksite.com/tape2cd for more detailed instructions. works fine for me.

yes you need a recording software.I use NCH.com 's wavepad but if you don't want to set your comuters date back all the time since it's a trial version(but a very good one) i suggest you use what Ike suggest because it is a good one and it's a freeware.Best ! Elek

one more thing, i don't know if audiograbber has any converting features but if it doesn't use SWITCH which you can download either from nch.com or download.com.

I currently do this for myself and for others, I use Goldwave to to the recording, the tape deck output goes to my sound cards line input. In Goldwave, I have it record from the line in. I also have the "unbounded" option check so that I can record, basically until my hard drive would fill up. I save the files as an mp3, mainly for the smaller files size, but if you just want to go from there to the CD WITHOUT any converting, save them as a wav file. I use NERO Pro (or whatever it's called) to record. It will actually convert the mp3's to the wav files (CD-DA file structuring) for me. If you need or want converting software you might try WinAMp. I know it will do some converting, but I can't remember if it was from wav to mp3 or mp3 to wav. Either route, you need wav files to burn to a CD, if you intent to play the audio CD in anything other than your PC.

If the house catches fire, SAVE the computer!!

"CASSETTE TO CD"
I run a cable off the back of my stereo to my PC,,, record the music to a location on my harddrive, then with the "Easy CD Creator", burn my music to the CD. You can get the cable at a Radio Shack or other electronics place,,, just tell them what your trying to do. If my memory serves me right its a RJ-2 cable. I hope I have helped you or at least got you on the right track. This method has served me very well for years. Anything you can play on your home stereo, you can burn on your PC.
