Cards.dll on Freecell no longer works after intalling and updating drivers for nVidia Geforce2 MX 100/200 32mb, AGP card. Noticed that on forum someone had exact same problems with Win 98 SE after installing nVidia 400. For other windows OS forums there is minimal discussion so have deduced that this problem is largely confined to Win98SE issues.
Please note I have done the following and Freecell still does not work:
1 uninstalled / reinstalled games
2 gone to web and downloded cards.dll files
3 downloaded BoDetect and checked for Trojans
4 checked MS FAQ bulletins
5 minimised or switched off background monitoring programmes
6 emailed details of problem to nVidia and no reply
Any suggestions?
Other details about my pc
256 ram, 40gig harddrive, cpu 1300 megahertz AMD Duron, 32 kilobyte primary memory cache
64 kilobyte secondary memory cache, AOC LCD 500 monitor, directx 8, Office 2000 professional, Norton's 2002 antivirus and Norton's 2000 utilities integrator. Here's hoping!

Cards.dll is a system file, go to system information the system file checker to check if it is corrupted and replace it or you can tell it to extract one file manually and replace it. Hope this helps.

Oh yes forgot to mention that suggestion was number 8 on the list of tried that! Many thanx tho. I think it's largely a conflict between Win98SE systems and the video card. When I first installed the video card, defrag, scandisk, screensaver and freecell didn't work. As I've upgraded various software from the nVidia site each have come right except for freecell.
Thanx again.
