I am using a Belkin USB 2.0 High Speed Host Controller. Win98 recognizes the card, in either slot, but I can't use it.
I've checked in device manager (where I've got the yellow exclamation point), and in the properties for this card, under device status is the message:
"This device is not working because Windows Support For Programmable PCI Interrupts is not enabled. (Code 29)"I have tried in the PCI bus properties > settings to check the "Use Bios"
I've tried clicking on the "Enable IRQ Steering" button, but that doesn't seem to do anything, since immediately the "You need to restart your computer..." dialog appears, and when I restart -whatever I tried to click or unclick in this "steering IRQ" tab-, the system/this tab is always the same. Thanks very much indeed for any help...
Subject: CardBus/Win98 PCI error
Comment:
I have installed a Belkin USB card Xircom credit card Ethernet 10/100+ Modem 56 CEM56 card working.
Now with its replacement:
Win98 recognizes

I had the same problem with a Xircom RealPort 32-bit type III PCMCIA CardBus (RBEM56G-100) Ethernet 10/100 Network port with 56K GlobalACCESS Modem/FAX/ISDN/GSM ports.
For the 760XL to configure the card properly, I had to open the ThinkPad Configuration Utility and select the "PC Card Slots" option. At this point you should find that the "CardBus" option is "Disabled" and needs to be set to "Enable".
After rebooting and reinstalling the drivers, my unit works fine.
