I have wrote recently, the problem is that I can't view my aol screen. I can see the title bar and the tool bar, but the contence of the page is blank. I uninstalled and reinstalled aol from 9 to 8 because dell tech support said that they had many problems with aol 9. This did not resolve my problem. I also searched for corrupt files. It was displayed that he setupx.dll file might be currupt, but when I try to get it off of the disk and cab file on my computer, it can't be located. I also error checked and defraged in safe as reccomended in an earlier post with no luck. Do you think I have a virus or a missing setupx.dll file, and where do I find it. Dell tells me it's aol and aol tells me it's dell. I can't get on the internet so I can't use adaware to check for spy-ware as recommended in and earlier post. Is there a back way to connect to the internet without using aols software. Everything else on the machine works fine. Sorry for rambling, but I'm lost. It all started when I fell for the "teddy bear icon" hoax, since I successfully reinstalled that file. Thanks

If you can make a connection to AOL (e.g., it connects), you can use IE or any other browser temporarily. Then, if you type www.aol.com as a link, you should get an AOL page. You might be able to resolve your problem there. If you can't make a connection, then I'd uninstall AOL completely and re-install AOL 8 or an older version.

Hey man, i have the same exact problem! 9.0 was working fine for a while and then out of nowhere it gave me that damn white screen where the sign on should be... the only version i can use is 7.0 without a problem... 8 and 9 give me the same white screen now. I've tried reinstalling at least 10 times. If you find an answer please email me at Pags4272@aol.com

I have the same problem with the white screen with AOL 8.0 and 9.0 after I tried to upgrade to AOL 9.0. AOL 9.0 worked fine for a few hours, then when I tried to sign on again I got a blank white screen with no sign on box. AOL technical support people (in India!) are very nice and positive but they don't seem to really understand the problem. The 9.0 will connect to the Internet one time only just after installation. I get the white screen in the AOL window but I can use IE to view web pages. My computer works fine otherwise. Maybe it has something to do with the AOL adaptor? There are no viruses or hardware conflicts on my computer, and I have scanned the hard drive and defraged it too. I can also use our other laptop to read email which runs fine on AOL 8.0. Somebody please help us.

I am having the same issue! Numerous uninstalls/re-installs of 8.0 and 9.0 unsuccessful... My computer is virus free, updated, it all works fine except this. AOL tech support is 100% useless and clueless. Can someone PLEASE walk me througha fix? I feel like no one can help me and I have no idea what to do from here.... Thanks :(
