Hello, i'm having a problem starting up...i came home to find that the system wouldn't start up. the lights on the hard drive turn on, but the system never starts up. the monitor is saying "no input". i don't get a c:/ prompt or anything, i can't start up in safe mode, i tried a boot disk and nothing.
any thoughts?

Check that the memory and/or the video card are both in ok. may want to just take them out and put back in or try different ones if you have any.

also does the computer still give it's short single post "beep" when you turn it on?

nope, i get nothing, no beeps or anything. i should've mentioned that the on/off button isn't working either. i'll plug in the computer and it will turn on itself. it's almost like it's frozen. the lights on the tower used to flash and then the computer would boot up...now, they stay on (as if they're frozen), and nothing happens, it's bizarre, i've never heard of anything like this before.

Sounds like your power supply is shot. Don't mess with putting in a new one unless you know what you're doing or you have lot's of life insurance. Take it to a tech.

i had the similar problem. I rest my bios by using the jumpers on the motherboard. You may have to read your motherboard manuel, but it cured my problem. My computer wouldn't start, and the monitor would display lose cable or no signal. but it was basicaly that my bios was screwed.
