Suddenly I cannot send files through icq or pc anywhere from my computer to my husband's. I used to be able to and cannot figure out what happened. It sends the request and when he accepts it says "listening" and then we get an error message saying we can't connect. Any ideas? Neither of us have a firewall as far as we know. I don't know how to check on this tho. Thanks if you can enlighten me!

hello! i suggest both you and hubby uninstall icq and reinstall it. thats the 1st thing i do when i cant work out whats up with software. also check icq news and terms of service maybe thay have put a limit on file size or amout of data you can send each week/month may even be a problem with icq network "" with this im truely guessing but its worth a closer look "" you could allways try msn.yahoo.ect ect

Thanks for your suggestion, but the problem is not with icq. My PC Anywhere will not connect and my aol instant messenger can't send files either. This is something on one of my computers. I just can't figure out what is wrong here. Very frustrating!

hello. if you are on AOL you are behind there firewall. have you tryed sending files to a differnt pc? as you are unsure if your behind a firewall you can go to this site it will scan your system and tell you the results "if all ports are open then u guessed it "no firewall" http://grc.com "shields up" it what you need to use. p.s it may be a good idea to start a new thred as its now on page 2 im sure someone out there knows whats up and can help you.
