Can't save display settings

Tek-tips question I have a Dell laptop. I can't seem to save my display settings after I shutdown. When it starts up, the video settings are at 600x480. I can change it (with effort) to 1024x768 and all is fine...until I reboot. Here is a twist: Even when the display settings are at 1024x768, the web pages in IE5 are too large for the screen. I can't even see the scroll bars.
Hello Bill To answer your problem, I think you have two different problem in fact: 1) One is with the windows settings which is not configurated correctely from the setup in your desktop. To find the setup to be saved you need to right-click on your desktop screen, you will see a small lift where you click on "properties", a new window will open, you will be able to configurate your computer: 800X600, 16 highcolor bits. Save must be done from that place only. 2) Your internet Explorer is upsolate actually to run correctely the new security protocol made by Microsoft for internet procedure. You need quickly to update for windows 95 to the last IE 5.5 SPack 2 : Here is the address to download this vital update for your machine: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/recommended/ie55sp2/default.asp Good luck

I would also check that your virus Guard is up to date and run a virus scan
