I have a pc runing win 98 se .
When I click on Restart in MS Dos mode, system goes into a black screen with a flashing cursor on the upper left corner of the screen.
How can I enable so, I can access DOS mode.
it is a home built pc with 128 mb ram and PMMX233 cpu.

Have you altered the dosstart.bat file in the win dir by any chance? This is the file that loads sound drviers etc for dos mode. Make sure it is there for one, and that it is correct.
without anything added to it, I think it should read just:
C:\windows\ctcm
Depending of course where you installed windows.
if it's not there, make a file with only that line in it and try that.

I was able to help someone else out with this a while back. Go to the link below for the prior post. Towards the bottom is the things we tried through e-mail and the last was finally the solution.

Statements in the Dosstart.bat file can vary from person to person's PC.
