Can't record a wave File

I ve got a Creative SB16 and can't record a wave file, I can play wavs, but the darn thing won't rec. I've check Volume Control and properties, I 've got the latest drivers still no luck. I'm running Win98 upgrade. Didn't have this Glitch in 95. Also My Microphone does not output thru my speakers. Help or E-mail a fix!!!

hi there
i also got a sound blaster 16 and win98 i dont have any problems with mine.
check you multimedia properties in control
panel and check what is set as the recording
device.
failing that look in device manager for any confilcts.

iam unable to record wave file.iam working on tapi i was successful till geting handle to incoming call but waveinopen function fails.i could understand want is happening
wavegetnumdev function also works it returns 4 devices. wavedevcaps also works it gives ths channel format.devicename.but waveinopen or wavegetid or waveoutopen function doesn't work.please help me as early as possible

Hai guys,

I am unable to use microphone to record sounds. Eventhough I checked properties everything is fine but others option is unselectable and by default 1 AGC option is selected, I don't understand why? Please help me to solve this problem ASAP
