can't play video files

when i try playing .wmv files which i downloaded, a message stating something regarding "license" and this page is open, what should i do?

thanks. i've tried playing with windows media player 9 but still it require some sort of license.

You may want to try this:
Open Media player, click on Tool-->Options--> get the 'player' tab.
Uncheck the box that says "attempt to aquire licenses automatically"
Say Ok and exit media player.
Open media player and try to play the file agian.
