Hi there,
I was just wondering why when I go into pogo it says:The following error has occurred:
Java Corrupted or Misinstalled
Explanation:
This error occurs when your Java software has been either misinstalled on your browser or if Java software has been corrupted in some way. Some of the symptoms include a large number of "exception errors", applets not showing up (or showing up as a blank or gray frame), and other crash problems. How to Fix the Problem:
The best way to solve the problem is to upgrade to a newer version of the browser you use. This will come with the latest versions of the Java software so you'll be able to run our Classic Games properly. (You should uninstall your current version before you begin the upgrade in order to start with a clean setup.) If you're already using the latest version of your browser and are experiencing this problem, it's still best if you uninstall your browser and then reinstall to begin anew.
Can anyone help with this.. I have 226 ram and am running win 98 se.. I used to be able to play in there, but now this message is coming up... I have installed all updates of internet explorer...
Thanks in advance..
I don't know how to uninstall ie and did a check on it...
Have a great day!! :o)

Do you have Zone Alarm installed? I have seen and fixed several friends that had a conflict between ZA and POGO. My fix was unistall ZA and go to SYGATE.

I recently ran into this problem. Upgrading to a higher version didn't fix it. Service packing didn't fix it either.
Try the new Java machine from Microsoft. See Q168806, on their support site. Before you try that, make sure that the JIT complier is not checked under the Advanced tab.

The below information was copied and pasted from another forum about another problem but the reply is likely to assist your problem too:

Is your browser setup to accept ALL cookies? How about scripting?
Try the Internet Explorer repair feature first. Go to Start>Settings>ControlPanel>Add/Remove Programs, scroll down until you see Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 & Internet Tools, click the Add/Remove button and select repair.
IF THAT DOESN'T WORK:
In Internet Explorer, go to Tools>Internet Options, click the Security tab , then the Custom Level button. Under ActiveX Controls and plugins, set it up like this:Download Signed ActiveX Controls and plugins...Prompt
Download unsigned ActiveX Controls...Disable
Inirialize and script ActiveX Controls not marked as safe...Disable
Run ActiveX Controls and plugins...Enable
Script ActiveX Controls marked safe for scripting...Enable.Then scroll down to the Microsoft VM and change that to:
Medium Security. Then scroll to the Scripting section and make sure all 3 boxes are enabled. Then shutdown and restart. If that doesn't work, try the following:
re-download Java VM, this is the latest 3805 build:
Microsoft Virtual Machine for Internet Explorerhttp://www.microsoft.com/java/vm/dl_vm40.htm
or download the latest Scripting Components here:

Re-download Java VM, this is the latest 3805 build:
Microsoft Virtual Machine for Internet Explorerhttp://www.microsoft.com/java/vm/dl_vm40.htm

Oops...reposting.
Linda,
Re-download Java VM, this is the latest 3805 build:
Microsoft Virtual Machine for Internet Explorerhttp://www.microsoft.com/java/vm/dl_vm40.htm
or click here to get there.
And then you just doubleclick on the file and it will install itself.
Also, This is an old post and I am likely the only person to see it so you should always post a new post on the main board and you can always copy the info from the address bar and paste it into your new post for reference.
I have seen this because I have this post bookmarked in the 'My Computing.net' feature which is really good.
Hope you see this and hope this helps.
Bryan
