I'm having a very frustrating problem with my Outlook. Every so often the program will hang when opening. If left (sometimes overnight) it will eventually open, and everything works fine. I have noticed that this does occur when e-mails, especially ones like "Incredimail" are arriving. When I delete the new arrivals, the program works fine, for a while, then it happens again (probably once a month).
(One other thing that I've notice lately is that it takes a very long time for e-mails to open up)
The situation has now become worse. As before, the program refused to open up immediately, but after leaving to open up overnight, it was functioning this morning. I can open up folders, delete mail, etc., but I can't open up mail. It simply hangs. After waiting for an hour, I hit control/alt/delete. Instead of getting the usual box with the list of open programs, I get a large white box with the following:
"The system is dangerously low on resources. Would you like to terminate the following application: InBox Microsoft not responding"
This is odd though since I have no problems using other programs, and Cacheman says my resources are fine.
Note, I manage my folders as well, so they're pretty lean. No huge amounts of saved mail.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated. As a last resort, I'll probably just use another e-mail client. I'm running AVG antivirus. Any folks aware of e-mail clients that either link with AVG for virus protection, or that have solid e-mail protection on their own.
Cheers!Pat

I think "Incredimail" is a fine mail client for making fancy pretty eMail, but you really should decide if you want to use MS Outlook or "Incredimail". If you get rid of "Incredimail" I'll bet Outlook will work perfectly.
There is an update site for Outlook and the scanner will find missing or corrupted programming.

Thanks FJ. I guess I wasn't too clear. I'm using only Outlook, and the problems sometimes happen when folks send me mail that they've originated using Incredimail. Hope that makes sense.

Oh OK!
Click on the "tools" tab and then on "options". In the "Mail Format" section choose "Rich Text" as the format.
Then check where it says to use "Microsoft Word to Edit Message".
That may make it easier for Outlook to handle the complexity of Incredimail. If not try setting the format to HTML. HTML is bad for regular mail however. It doesn't recognize paragraphs and some other punctuation.
I hope it works for you. I don't know what version of Office you're using.
