Can't open MS Office programs

Whenever I attempt to open an MS Office program, such as Word or Powerpoint, it says... "Windows Installer... preparing to configure Microsoft Office XP with Frontpage..." and then follows it up with "The operating system is not presently configured to run this application." -or- "The Windows installer failed to install a program associated with this file. Please contact your system administrator." I find this strange as I'm not trying to install anything...
I am completely lost, as I could run Word perfectly as of yesterday, and Spybot and Ad-Aware do nothing. Any help??

Insert your Office CD, and either run the setup.exe file from there or go to Add/Remove Programs. Once the setup starts, it will give you the options to Add/Remove Features, Repair, or Remove. Try the Repair first.
