Hello all. I have an Aptiva/IBM computer that I'm trying to install a cd burner into for a friend. I can't see any screws or a way into the case. It appears to be riveted shut in the back. Anyone have an idea how to get in?

go here and download the hardware maintence manual for your model of aptiva it should show you a breakdown procedure to go through http://www.pc.ibm.com/us/cdt/hmm.html#aptiva

Look under the front of the pc. If it looks like a handle, try pulling the whole front cover off, from the bottom up. Then there should be 2 or 3 screws to remove the rest of the cover from the chassis.

Thanks guys, managed to get it open. It was the handle on the bottom. Stiff, but it worked.
