Hi everyone. the thing is i cant open any program. I´ve installed few programs recently, and today one program i´ve never heard of it, open itself, so i deleted thinking it was a virus or some s--- like that. this program was axxlpkt.exe
now, i´ve restarted my PC, and when windows opens it give me several notes saying that "windows doesnt finds axxlpkt.exe" , and that "this program is required to open "Aplication" files."
I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO, because i´ve serched the web for this program but doesnt appear. The weired thing is, that Word for example i cant open it anywhere, except if i open a file, thats the only way i can open it. The same with most of all programs.
I cant even open REGEDIT
If someone can help i will be very gratefull.

I think you are right. That is not a file I've ever heard of and I think it might have been a Trojan.

If you can somehow download this program try running it:
EXEFIX08 DOWNLOAD

It restores all your .exe file associations. As it's a .com file it should run.

If you can't download it we'll have to fiddle around in DOS.

papamaestro, Just to add to Derek's excellent advice you could also go to the link below and download the "Fixswen.inf" file. Save the fixswen.inf file to your local hard disk, right-click on the file and choose install.

Fixswen Tool

If you can't access the Internet with the problem computer use another computer and download it to a floppy disk or CD then transfer it to the problem computer and run it. Hopefully your .inf file association isn't hosed.

If and when you get going again, pop back because we need to be sure there are not remnants of a Trojan/Virus kicking around.

DerekW and Tufenuf, thank you, it worked wonderfull. Another thing, before doing all this things, when i tried to turn off my pc, a note appeared saying, there was one user connected to my pc, and that if i turn it off, he would be disconnected. Of course i turned it off, but, that means a trojan was in my computer right? and how can i now when someone is conected to my pc, is there any program.
Well guys, ty a lot again.

Great.

As a minimum I would Update and run your AV, then download this (update & run):

A-SQUARED FREE - JUST DOWN PAGE

The above takes about as long to run as an AV and is geared towards finding/fixing Trojans.

... as regards intruders, if you haven't got a firewall this freebie is OK on about everyones computer except mine LOL:

SYGATE PERSONAL FIREWALL

Zone Alarm is also OK but a bit heavy. I use Kerio's oldie but it's a bit too DIY for many folk.

Most of the time the software has altered the registry so it loads each time you start up. Since it just started happening today you might try restoring a previous registry. That way, even though the nasty stuff may still be on your drive, it won't load because the registry doesn't know to do so.

To do this, start up the computer. Before the OS starts to load, start tapping F8. A menu should come up. Choose 'command prompt only'. At the c:\> prompt type scanreg/restore and enter. Then restore a registry from before the problem started.

Well, I see you mostly got it fixed as I didn't read #5. The restore may not be necessary now but for future reference. . .
