Comment: I can't load win98 on my 486dx2 66 the message I keep getting is that windows needs min 66mhz to run then shuts down installation

Reply: (edit)Dear Mike, I am sorry to say that your system is too weak to handle windows98. 486 is a 16 bit processor and windows9x are optimised for 32 bit processors like Pentium. Although Microsoft's minimal requirement for windows98 is a 486 and 66mhz but a processor's performance decreases as you use it. If you benchmark your processor you will see its actual clock speed is 55mhz.

Reply: (edit)Dear Mike I ran win98 just fine on my Samsung 486DX2/66 although a lot slower than my new ibm 300. I had 16 mhz of RAM - perhaps thats the problem...
