Cant install windows!!

i cant install windows onto 2 machines because when I run setup for windows 98 or 95, it says that it cant run scandisk because it needs MSDOS verison 5.0 or later, WHAT DO I DO? WHERE CAN I GET MSDOS VERSION 5.0 OR LATER? I CANT FIND IT ON DOWNLOAD.COM

Download a good boot disk for windows 98 from bootdisk.com.
Boot with the boot disk and run the install.

Do as above but you should format the drive aswell (fat32). With the win 98 disk you got above type "format c:" at the a:> prompt (this will erase all data on C: drive)

The floppy that you download from www.bootdisk.com is version 7. Try again and make sure that you are booting from the floppy and not the hard drive.

when you type setup from the cdrom drive type this command
