Can't install Win98

I recently formatted my drive because no programs were responding. I figured I could start over again. Now when I try to install Win98 it says that it is coping the files needed for it's installation but after that it just sits there, nothing happens. I created my DOS partitions already and I keep going over the setup process to check for errors but nothing changes. My desktop right now is just a paperweight that I can do nothing with. Please, I need someones help with this.

I would suggest that you use CHKDISK it. This would check the sectors independently and see if they were functional. All the ones that dont would be marked as bad and would be skiped during reading or writing.

Chkdsk has pretty much been replaced by scandisk - which, I'm pretty sure, Windows runs prior to installing.
Dirty CD drive lens? Do you have an anti virus setting enabled in CMOS? Just guessing.

Seat6, setting a partition Active would be done within fdisk, not format.
Eddie, try copying the Win98 directory from the CD onto the computer's HD & run setup from the HD. Mesich's website will explain how to do this.
