Comment: Hi: I could install VirusScan version 5.1 on my computer Pentium I 90Mhz, then on Pentium II 233 Mhz and 300 Mhz with W98 and NT4. But now I can't install it on Pentium III 800Mhz with the error 1901: Error attempting to read from the source installation database C:\windows\temp\*.msi. Please help. thanks in advance. whoo

Reply: (edit)When you say VirusScan 5.1, I'll assume you're talking about McAfee. Is your cd in good shape? I use AVG because it is far superior to McAfee and it is free

Reply: (edit)Go to the below listed link and download and install the Microsoft Windows 2.0 Installer, reboot your computer, then try to install McAfee VirusScan 5x again. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/release.asp?ReleaseID=32831
