can't install programs due to crc error

if i want to install programs like icq, gozilla! or glsetup(for quake3). it says: could not initialize installation (crc). does anyone know how to solve this because it is a really large problem to me and i like these programs and i want to use them. please help me!!

Try and upgrade your video drivers, and depending on what card your using, an upgrade may not be enough. I had to shell out the bucks for a Viper TNT2 to play Kingpin. Also check your version of DirectX from microsoft, I have had errors trying to run the latest software and then found out I needed to upgrade to directX 6.1
