Can't hear much when I'm using headphone

I hardly hear much when I am using Headphones with my destop pc (plugged in the speaker port behind the base). Unlike the desktop speakers or de pc speakerz itself which are much louder.
what's wrong with that? What should i do? make some adjustments with de PC sound settings? I've tried that but couldn't find any option to do that.Any other possible solution to that problem?

To use headphones in the speaker port, they will have to be powered (amplified). Try plugging them into the headphone jack on the speaker itself.

The headphones do not have to be amplified. Are you using mono phones with the stereo jack? Might try going to wally world and buying a cheap set of earphones and try that. Also you can get a Y connector and plug the phones into the same jack your speakers are in. That is what I am using now and works great. If you dont want the speakers just turn the volume down on the speakers.

Summary: I have the same problem, always with SM56 Motorola chip on modem. Microsoft said it's a driver problem... I can't fix it when i'm using that modem when i changed it, new modem works......
