Can't get to DOS mode - at all!

Help: When I choose "restart computer in dos mode" from the shutdown screen, my PC hangs. When I try to hit F8 or Ctrl during boot-up to get to DOS, nothing happens - it just starts Win98. When I choose the DOS program from the Start Menu, I get an error saying "this program is set to run in MS Dos mode and cannot run while other programs are loaded; do you wish to continue?" When I hit yes, it tells me that DOS can't run in this Window because of how it uses the display and commences to hang. My DOS is LOST. Any ideas??

Try this, Go to control pannel, add/ remove programs, Start up disk. Make a new disk. Windoes will ask for the cd rom and make the disk and hopefully fix your problem. Please post the results.

create an emergency disk(boot)... then if that happens change your version of dos to 6.0 or higher..copy the dos folder from another machine (last resort)
