I have a cable connection to the internet which works fine. The problem is whenever I try to access a page that uses SSL, I get a messge that says "Conneection Refused when attempting to access _____" where _____ is the site name. This occurs on both Mozilla Firefox 1.0.6 and IE 6.0. I have checked to make sure MOzilla is set up to use SSL, Tools->Options->Advanced, then making sure there's a checkmark in the 3 boxes under security (USe SSL 2.0 USE SSL 3.0, Use TLS 1.0) but that has no effect. I can't get onto my hotmail or yahoo account, yet when I log in from my other computer, there is no problem. Also, when I try to go Macy's to buy something, I can't even see hte page, even though there is not login! How can I resolve this problem?

From the Start menu, select Run.In the Open field, type sfc /scannow (Note: There is a space between sfc and /scannow) Select the OK button. Follow the prompts throughout the System File Checker process. Reboot the computer when System File Checker completes. Try this it's from microsoft to repair IE 6.0 Address subject in post and refrain from misleading or childish antics!!!
