I have a cable connection to the internet which works fine. The problem is whenever I try to access a page that uses SSL, I get a messge that says "Conneection Refused when attempting to access _____" where _____ is the site name. This occurs on both Mozilla Firefox 1.0.6 and IE 6.0. I have checked to make sure MOzilla is set up to use SSL, Tools->Options->Advanced, then making sure there's a checkmark in the 3 boxes under security (USe SSL 2.0 USE SSL 3.0, Use TLS 1.0) but that has no effect. I can't get onto my hotmail or yahoo account, yet when I log in from my other computer, there is no problem. Also, when I try to go Macy's to buy something, I can't even see hte page, even though there is not login! How can I resolve this problem?

From the Start menu, select Run.In the Open field, type sfc /scannow (Note: There is a space between sfc and /scannow) Select the OK button. Follow the prompts throughout the System File Checker process. Reboot the computer when System File Checker completes. Try this it's from microsoft to repair IE 6.0
