Most desktops use a battery about the size of a nickel. They're available just about everywhere. If you have an older 486 or something similar the battery may be a rechargable nicad soldered on the motherboard near the keyboard port. Or it may be an external battery attached with velcro somewhere on the inside of the case with 2 wires going to the motherboard. You need to open up your desktop and see what you've got.
