Windows 95 Setup is asking me for six files that it can't find on the CD. s3mm.dll, s3mm.drv, s3mm.vxd, k2v_dig.ini, k2v_nwc.ini, and k2v_swc.ini. I notice that there are a few messages around looking for the same files. Can somebody help me?

Sounds like your video card drivers. Do you have a S3 video card? If so, go to www.S3.com and download the drivers for you video card and install then. Good luck OR Reference the diskette that can with your video card when Win95 setup asks for those files. ( Put that disk in the a drive)

grr... you ppl should really learn to solve pooter problems yourself ('cause no-one else is obliged to do it for you unless you're paying them £££ for it...). Like the first guy says - you may find what you need at http://www.s3.com/default.asp?menu=support&submenu=S3_Graphic_Chips&item=drivers&product=Trio64VPlus_765 , but failing that just go to s3.com

Here are two sites: http://www.treiber-archiv.de to find the first two (it's a German site but you'll find the file section easy enough) and http://drd.dyndns.org/dll/win95 between these two there shouldn't be another site that you'll have to visit, for these, or for any related drivers etc.
I had the same problem. To solve it, I put in the Windows 95 disk. Right clicked MY COMPUTER, and click on your CD-ROM. Click on the Windows folder (you will need Winzip to open the folder). S3mm.dll, is located in the 05.cab file. S3mm.drv and s3mm.vxd, are located in the 06.cab file. Once inside the Windows file locate the file you want and highlight it, then, right click on it, on the drop down menu click EXTRACT, and type in the destination file you want. Should be C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\s3mm.dll=win95_05.cab for the s3mm.dll. And, C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\s3mm.drv=win95_06.cab for s3mm.drv. And C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\s3mm.vxd=win95_06.cab for the semm.vxd file. Load all three files and reboot your computer. Hope this helps, Patrick

Just had the same problem setting up 95 on an old compaq. All the files can be found in the 05, 06, and 13 cab files. If you click on browse Win95 will actually show you which cab it is trying to extract the file from.
