Comment:

Whenever I empty my IE5 browser cache through my WindowsSE Internet Options Program in my Control Panel, all my temporary internet pages and cookies are still listed in the respective folders under Windows Explorer. I then try to delete them manually and have them only copied and placed within the same folder. Please let me know what I'm doing wrong. Thanks!!

Hi Monica,
try deleting them from IE/TOOLS/INTERNET OPTIONS.. sometimes they dont show up as gone until you re-boot! or else try
control Panel/add-remove/IE5 and tools and try the IE5 repair tool!

wassup Monica
trying to delete your tracks huh ?
ok
y don't u try a more sraight forward action:
just go to that folder through the explorer and push 'Ctrl' + 'A' and than push 'Del'. wouldn't that be much easier. or try an even easier one: download "HistoryKill99" which automatically disables cookies and IE5 chache and deletes ALL the current hitory files at every shut down and restart.

good luck !!!

Here is another solution:
add these lines in your Autoexec.bat file so all the tempory internet files will be automatically deleted each time you restart your computer.
-----------------------

@ECHO OFF
C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\DELTREE.exe /Y c:\WINDOWS\Cookies
C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\DELTREE.exe /Y C:\WINDOWS\History
MD C:\WINDOWS\History
C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\DELTREE.exe /Y C:\TEMPOR~1\content.ie5
C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\DELTREE.exe /Y C:\WINDOWS\TEMP
MD C:\WINDOWS\TEMP

Don't use deltree, It will remove the folder as well as the contents. Don't delete the index.dat file.
