Can't edit system.ini - why?[2]

Ive posted this message some time ago but I guess it's kinda difficult to answer. I'll take any suggestion though...

I have GoBack, Norton AV and Zone Alarm installed. Maybe one or more of them is the cause...


I am trying to change my system.ini file from
[vcache]
ChunkSize=512
adding a line:
MaxFileCache=300000

I add the line, save the file and restart the PC but when I look in system.ini again, the new line is not there. What should be done?

go to START>run and type "sysedit" and use that to change it and see if that does the trick

Check the file properties. Make sure it's not set as "read only" before editing.

I finally managed to edit system.ini. Dan's suggestion helped me to reach the solution: I edited the file, changed its property to read-only (box was unchecked) and then it worked fine.
