Hi I can't download exe files with IE5...but I can download .mp3, .zip, etc... What do I have to do?

Virus checkers target exe's , The security settings may block them

cant start java (yahoo) games.

Yes I have a similar problem.... each time I try to download an *.exe file my computer just freezes.... What could be wrong ?.. please help. Thank you

Hmmm, sort of the same problem here. Can't download EXE files (sort of)... When I click a link to an EXE, IE5 asks me this: "Do you want to allow software such as ActiveX controls to run?" Whether I click "Yes" or "No", the result is the same. It doesn't download. I can still download them if I 'right-click' the link and select "Save As". I'm sure the solution is in the registry somewhere, but I've benn unable to find it. If anyone can help, please let me know. Oh, and this server seems to have "screened" my email address for me. The "---" should be replaced with the letters "uck".
